What would you do??--This is a serious question--Need Feedback.
You're at the playground and a child (age 2-4) starts screaming and pointing at YOUR child's (age 2-4) hat saying, "I'm scared, I'm scared!!"
The other mom asked the "kid with the scary hat" mom to remove the hat from their child's head.
What would you do? (if you were the mom of the scary hat kid)
What would you do? (if you were the mom of the kid that was afraid of the scary hat?)
Note: It's a cowboy hat.
Everyone can answer the question hypothetically too. I want all feedback. Thanks.

I would say, "What's going on?" I would go and talk to the scared child and his/her parents. I wouldn't be against getting my child to take off the hat. It's not that big of a deal. If my child pitched a fit about it, I'd redirect. If it were my child who was scared, I'd remove him/her from the situation.
Well, as a parent of a child who is deathly afraid of people dressed up, I would either:
1. Walk with my child up to the hat kid and introduce him.
2. Take the child to another part of the playground.
3. Ask the mom if it is OK if the child removes the hat.
If I were hat mom I would:
1. Ask the scared kid's mom if it would be OK if my child talked to the scared kid and maybe let the scared kid wear the hat.
2. Take the hat off my kid if asked politely explaining to my child about fears.
3. Use it as an excuse to leave the playground (if you have been there too long).
