My hair grows unevenly. I got it all cut off last summer and now it's growing back. Unevenly. Again. Help! Do you know why this is happening to me? Has this ever happened to you? How did you handle this situation?

Are you wrapping it in one direction only? Maybe sleeping on one side all of the time? I am unsure of why it would do this, however, maybe one side of your head is getting more attention than the other?
Before I went natural, I had that problem. Primarily, I sleep on the same side everynight. I never wrapped my head and I never slept on satin pillowcases. Seeing that I was too lazy for perm upkeep. I opted for the shake and go 'fro.
my hair did this before i cut it alllllll off and started from scratch.(DONT DO THAT) I was giving one side more attention that the other like oiling, wrapping the same side, etc. Show your hair some even love. In my case I also believed that one side was dryer and more brittle at the ends, so it would break alot. I would hate going to the salon and getting it clipped b/c she/he would clip it one sided like that.
When you find a fix let me know please. My left side grows way faster than the right. I rarely style my hair down. It's really noticeable. I do like your color though and I don't think it looks bad.
If I could post a picture of myself, you would see that my hair looks EXACTLY like yours. I've tried to get it cut evenly, but it ends up growing out looking exactly the same. The only time my hair was even was after I went almost a year of wearing braids and another time of almost 2 years of being natural. It was at its healthiest during those times too.
I haven't figured out the trick to getting even RELAXED hair, but I am one who tends to wrap my hair in one direction so I'll try switching it up. Also, I've been told that switching the side of your head you sleep on may help as well, but in my case I sleep all over the place and with my head on either side so I know this won't help me. I do sleep with a satin pillowcase though.
Good luck with whatever you do, and if you eventually find something that works, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. ;-)
i'm having this same problem! i got it cut evenly and a few months later the right side was an inch longer than the left. it was also more full and thicker then the left side. nobody is perfectly symmetrical, but this is ridiculous.
